J. ANDREW BAER ARCHITECT has practiced architecture in Holland, Michigan since 1991 and has had a downtown office at 222 South River Avenue for over sixteen years.

The firm's project diversity and geographic reach covers not only assignments in West Michigan, but throughout the state and region. Project work includes churches, retail and hospitality, secondary and higher education, medical and municipal facilities, as well as private home design. Andy's work also features numerous industrial and commercial projects with a discerning eye and emerging
adaptive reuse of historic structures.

This wide range of contract work has broadened the firm's expertise and perspective in providing unique solutions for the variety of needs, situations, and challenges that client's experience when bringing their vision to life.

Upon graduating with a Bachelor's of Architecture from The University of Texas-Austin, in 1982 and receiving a professional license in 1986, Mr. Baer has enjoyed a quietly prolific career in architecture. After relocating to West Michigan, Andy established a sole proprietorship,
began his practice, and developed his particular niche.

During the firm's twenty years in Holland, Andrew's clients have included a number of prominent businesses, municipalities and institutions of higher learning, including Hope College, The City of Holland, The City of Zeeland, and Herman Miller, as well as several distinctive renovations of historic structures.

Mr. Baer has been active in a host of local organ- izations, including the downtown Holland Design Review Board, several years on the boards of Habitat for Humanity,
Resthaven Care Community, and local low-income housing organization, Jubilee Ministries. He affirms that, "It is always a positive experience when the practice contributes to the well-being of the community."

Andrew's broad range of practice experience, hands- on approach to the job, ability to communicate with a wide range of clientele, and his commitment to the community have given the practice a firm footing.
